Water! Water!! Water!!!

I was in a hurry-hurry-run-run-run situation like always…waking up my two sleepy kids …I would start with some tactics like switching off the fan and switch on the lights assuming that they will open their eyes…No way…Then my next tool, I would start calling their names loudly right from 7:00 am…no sign of opening their eyes..then I wet their eyes with water drops….Emmmhhhhhhhh!!!! No amma..No…they will turn around to the other side and the sleep continues….My loud auditory voice touches the peak when the clock touches 7:30am….with that my kids will get the feeling that is it “ enough of sleep” !! Let’s get out of the bed otherwise mama Dinosaurs will start howling (my son’s imagination)…Then the effort of making my son brush his teeth and bathing is yet a long story…My daughter has a starting trouble...she takes care of herself ..bathing and dressing up….After that the breakfast time!!!! Emh, another milestone for me ……

Then by 8:45 am they are off to school…and me to office…My lovely hubby is on his official trip to Cochin for 5 days…So I don’t have a personal driver (My hubby) to drop me at the office… I resorted to my hectic bus travel hardly 5 bus stops away....but the morning mad crowd drives everyone crazy..not withstanding the Chennai’s weather..it is hot..very hot… I waited..There it comes overloaded with 5-10 guys hanging in the footboard..OK!!! I waited for the next bus….I faced the same kind of picture with the next arrival too….Emh!!! I looked at my watch..it was 8:50am..OK!!! I can afford to wait for couple of minutes…and when I turned towards the direction, Ah..my favourite “SHAREAUTO” came vacant!!! Waw, it was like a boon….I got into the auto…and immediately it was fully occupied with 8 people…2 sitting as bodyguard for the driver …3 in the backside upper seat (luxurious b’coz it’s so called cushioned)..I took one of the seat, lucky me!! ..and 3 in the lower seat which is like plain plywood seat…Off we went… Drr Drrr Drrr……and I got down at my bus stop….I decided to walk the rest of the way to office….Ah!!! The heat.. I was literally exhausted with heat and traffic and dust and sewage smell… and felt like heaven when I entered my office..Thanks to the AC…

I switched on my system and checked my inbox for any emails that requires my immediate action and attention..Nope!!! I moved on to my next action which would be to fill my bottle with water. Off I went to the cafeteria of the same floor …and there is no water!!! Oops…To quench my thirst, I thought I’ll have some tea…..I made myself comfortable in a chair and was sipping my hot black tea…In the mean time, I saw many associates coming with bottle to fill their share of water…No water!!! No water!!! I was observing their reactions in their face….Very pathetic situation….

After having finished my tea, I decided to check the availability in other floors…Off I went with great enthusiasm thinking that I’m the only person who has brains…..aaaah!!! Nope….People are more brainy than you…!!! More ladies like me tried all floors except ground floor..and we started forming an informal group…..”What ya, no water…why…how come they (admin) can do like this…water is the basic necessity…what the admin people are doing…not bothered about employees…blah blah…”..Another lady decided to go directly and raise the issue to the admin guys with “I’ll fire them..what they think of us without water to drink?” attitude…Great!!! I also nodded to her comments “Yeah! Yeah!!!”…More than addressing the issue to them, I wanted atleast a drop of water to wet my throat…I tried the cafeteria of 1st floor, next to admin room...THANK GOD!!! WATER !!!! I could see watercan with water…Waaw!!! I filled my bottle fully to the noozle…and had a glass of water also!!! I have never realized the taste of water till then!!!! My other friend frowned saying “I should also have brought my botlle!!!!”..Then we proceeded towards admin room..As we opened our door, we saw almost 7 pair of eyes directed towards us with no idea of what was going on in the rest of the building!!!……My friend started narrating the issue …I was waiting for a whole scene with blasting and shouting at these people. But it didn’t happen in the way I thought or rather visualized.. The admin guys informed us that there had been a breakdown of vehicle which brings water cans and promised that they will make sure that water would be available as early as possible....… In case we need to inform any situation like this, please send it to this email id …. The whole show ended like a piece of cold fish…When we were returning back to our floors, she continued “I’m going to send a stinger mail to admin ..you wait and watch”..I was smiling within myself realizing that definitely this will not happen…

I reached my desk and decided to put my piece of cent to the whole situation…Decided to drop an email to admin people ‘cc’ing my project people…Sat down and started drafting my email…decided to make it look more practical rather than blaming people…Here we go…clicked the “SEND” button…and oops!!! I got a system administrator email spitting at me saying “ Undeliverable”..What the heck??? I don’t have permission to send to these these recipients…OH!!! Now what should I do? I decided to forward my email to my Manager…There is goes..Within minutes, it was forwarded to the appropriate recipients!!! Great!!! And within ten minutes, I got emails the issue is looked into and the action is taken …..Thanks!!!!

Back to my office work…busy busy…I was reaching out for my water. Oh! No! I found that my bottle got over!!! Ok!!! Enroute, I dropped at restroom. I met one of the lady in that informal group and she almost pounced at me asking questions ”I don’t know whether the water is available now. What did the admin said? …which? Where?..”…I assured her that water is available now. But I myself was not aware whether water is available or not. I decided to check it out for myself. I went to the cafeteria in my floor…and to my happiness I found 2 big water cans and my associates happily filling their bottles and glasses. I also followed them. I also saw couple of cafeteria girls rolling 2-3 water cans to the cafeteria to stock it. I happily walked out of the place with a grin on my face.

I thank the admin person who has resolved this issue and water cans availability possible.

This write-up does not indicate that I’m the sole person who raised and solved this issue. There are many people who would have voiced out and I definitely love to be the part of that group.

My First Blog

I welcome myself to this world of blogging. Of course, I welcome the prospective followers of my beautiful piece of notes in the days to come.I was wondering how I should start…...or rather where should I start. I've not written anything so far. So many thought process comes in and goes...but really haven't tried putting it in papers black and white...Ok!!!

As a typical Hindu, I start with the blessings of Lord Vinayaka. As you can see, His image is posted as well. So Pranamam to the Great Almighty.

Have you heard of this “IDEA” of dieting, weight loss...well “Vritham”................. Something about “traveling in Chennai bus during rush hours in the morning?” ..you could meet all crazy fellas…..trying to make a chutney out of me…me, the tiffin box and the office bag all in different directions…360 degrees... By the time, you reach your destination..it is like “I’m exhausted” . 360 degrees !?!...it reminds me of the self-appraisal that everyone has to fill before the deadline…But looks like people can’t meet it as it is always showing “Server Error: unavailable “…blah blah….Good going!!! Lucky me, I don’t fall in this cycle of appraisal.

The best singer of my home – “my daughter"...I wonder how she picks the tune and lyrics fast....wonder why? because I somehow cannot register the lyrics even after hearing the same song over and over again...So dumb me!??! No not at all… Never...I write those words listening through my headphone 1000 and one times.....and rehearse it 100 and 1 times and the person who is victimized is my dear hubby... I’ll sing to him (especially while he driving the car…he has no other option but forced to listen to my "sweet" voice and drive) with my own charanam, sruthi (Pls don’t ask me the meaning or definition technical terms in Music) . I hear these words often in “Super Star 2009” in Asianet which I watch rarely these days as the “REMOTE” will be confiscated by my Son and daughter to watch “The Pink Panther Show” screened on Pogo TV the same time which my son adorns…..

Watch me in this space with exciting and peppery and salty notes……..!!!

Until then “Keep smiling” and “Take good care”
